Swagbucks really is one of my favorite search & win sites lately. Because it's easy, & I don't have to do anything "extra." For instance, I love MyPoints- but some days I get like 15 emails from them & it's a little bit of a hassle! Swagbucks is just plain searching.. super easy :)

I have a credit card account that I pay online every single month... it's been closed for a few years now (yes, it's taking me a long time to pay it off) & I have still had online access. I tried to log on today & I suddenly don't have access anymore. I called up to find out what the heck was the problem & encountered this.
Rep: Once your account is closed, you no longer have online access.
Me: But the account's been closed for years, & I made an online payment last week.
Rep: Once your account is closed, you no longer have online access.
Me: Okay.. why?
Rep: I'm sorry ma'am, but once the account is closed, you no longer have online access.
Me: Okay... that's not what I asked.. I asked why the company has made that change.
Rep: Once the account is closed, you no longer have online access.
WTF? I started to get really pissed because she was just saying the same thing over & over, then started telling me to stop being rude, yelling, & talking over her. She kept interrupting me to say the same thing over & over!! Finally I said "That is not really an answer to my question. Listen to this: 'Why did you change it?' 'Once it's closed, you don't have access.' Does that sound like an answer to that question? It's not. My question is why did this change?"
I finally had to transfer to a supervisor to complain because she was pissing me off so bad. If you don't know the damn answer, just say so. I wanted to know why they chose to inconvenience customers who still owe them money every month by making it so that I can't review my account online or make payments online. I don't want to have to send checks or go through a phone system. It's inconvenient & I just wanted to know the reason. What the heck is so hard about that?
I got off the phone & tried to log in to my account again, & it worked 0____o
My burns feel a ton better after putting that stuff on them. Now all I can think about is the weight I'm gaining having not been to the gym in over a week. I guess I went to pole class on Monday but I didn't do much. I don't want to over-exert myself & make my arm swell up again, but still. Frustrating. Feel like blob. Urrrghghh.
[ETA] Why do I get these calls? I just got a call that when I picked up said "This is Card Services. Please call us back at (number)." And that's it. I get these calls from time to time and never call back. So, I did. It was Bank of America. I do have a card with them, but it's not overdue or past due or over limit, & I actually have automated monthly payments set up through February 2010. The guy said he didn't know why they were calling me. Uh, okay so, can you cut it out?
I also keep getting calls from the number 1-000-0000-000. Anyone know WTF that is all about? |

I came home from work & decided that since it was so nice outside, I would put the chickens out in the yard for the first time. They will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday.
So, how exactly do you transport BB chickens?
In a large Rubbermaid, of course. Preferably with the help of an inquisitive ridgeback.
They pretty much traveled in a pack the entire time they were in the yard.

After about an hour of this everyone (except the chickens) was pooped. My pets are such wussies. I am just ecstatic that Quinn stayed around me & didn't run off, though!! And just in case you were wondering, it's really hard to catch chickens even if they ARE babies :x

Kind of a weird shirt, but I think I love it anyway.
My cake pops are coming along awesomely this time. I liked the taste of the chocolate ones better, but I did much better this time around with the consistency/handling of melted chocolate issue. Pics soon, hopefully. |

Since Alicia reminded me about the lack of pimping I have done for this website, let me start :P
The other site I have started fairly recently that seems to go well (I actually do a LOT of survey & freebie websites, only a handful are "worth it") is Swagbucks. It's one of those "search & win" sites where you search either through their portal or through an installed search bar, instead of Google (although they claim to be pulling from the same places as Google) & earn points to get prizes.
I started in the last few months & already have a lot of points. Seems like most people trade in for $5 Amazing gift cards & things like that. It's fairly easy to win points (or "bucks") through searching, but they also do point hunts on their blog, twitter, & Facebook page. So it's an interactive community & is pretty easy. I haven't put a whole lot of effort into winning bucks but like I said, already have a good amount. I think it's another good way to earn gift cards & stuff fairly quickly!
You can also "recycle" phones, video games, etc. through them to earn points.
I have not been successful with a lot of other search toolbars, either because I didn't get points for using them or they weren't compatible with Mac!!

I rarely bother to do this bc I am lazy, but since I know a bunch of you guys are into coupons & money-making online stuff lately, I thought I'd post this. This site is by NO MEANS a HUGE money-maker, buuut it pays out weekly & is a cool way to get a little money in your PayPal account :)
Summary: Basically you sign up to the site & view ads/webpages for some random amount each (usually 10-15 cents). You don't get things to view every day-- what you get to view depends on what you put in your info file. The first week I signed up I got a PayPal deposit of a little over $5. In the subsequent weeks it's been less, but it seems random. Doesn't matter to me-- it takes literally a few seconds a day to click to the site & check it out, & I get a little money.
My mom didn't want to sign up because they require your phone number for account verification. This was OK with me because they don't ask for other personal info... the phone # is basically just to make sure one person isn't making 50 different accounts.

I went to American Eagle to exchange the pants that didn't fit, & I found another, I thought just similar, pair of pants, in the same size, that fit decently. I could stand to lose a few to make them fit perfectly, but I will & I refuse to go a size up. NO WAY. I go to exchange them & the girl is like "these are exactly the same pants." WTF. One fit, one didn't, but they are labeled as exactly the same thing!
Marko came to the mall with me & as I was bemoaning the lack of pants in the store that fit me (I seriously still refuse to believe that I am SO BIG that THE BIGGEST PANTS IN THE STORE don't fit me properly) he started to explain why he thought that was, then abruptly stopped. I finally wrestled it out of him: he said that he thought "usually, girls who have a big butt, hips, and thighs" "like I do," also have a big stomach, & I don't, so that's my problem. As endearing as his efforts to understand my situation are, I really don't think that's it, lol.
Anyway, I was very disappointed that they did not have a single white tank top in the store (WTF) so I exchanged my too-big one for something else. Instead of a pair of pant & one top, I ended up with a pair of pants (the same pair, for cheaper) & 3 tops. Sweet!
We also stopped by Teavana, where I was talked into buying some expensive (wtf!?) tea by the nice sales girl. She really wasn't even talking to me about tea, just other stuff, but then I wanted to buy something from her, & I DID like the tea anyway, & it's rare for me to find tea that I like, so...
We went to the Apple store to ogle & touch things.. I had never held an iPhone before & wanted to check it out. One thing I have to say I think sucks about it is those tiny ass on-screen keys for the keyboard. What the hell. We also went to T-Mobile where I ogled the Google G1, which I thought was a lot more interesting TBH. Oh well, it's not like I'm getting either of those, so :P
So.. it was pretty nice to spend that time with Mark. I dropped him off after that. Then I went to the gym & ran intervals until I thought I would puke. I thought it was a highly successful workout.
At home... I spent 2 hours watching Dexter & putting my clothes away. Christ, I have too much. Ever since then I've been cooking: a HUGE stir-fry involving butternut squash, onion, garlic, bamboo shoots soaked in chili oil, turnips, potatoes, & bok choy. SO FULL. I also made some banana-walnut bread, since I had 2 overripe bananas sitting around waiting to be used. I made soymilk, put some milk for yogurt in the oven, & boiled a chicken to make baby food for the gliders. Sheesh... what a mess to clean up.
I finally figured out how to use my computer's camera! In retrospect, I am dumb. The color sucks, though.
A pic of what happens to me when I sit down anywhere. I lay on my bed for a few minutes to change the Dexter episode & the cats started piling on. Luckily I managed to elude the dog for the time being. And yes, I am wearing a shirt! My bra straps are just more visible than the shirt's, haha. I was changing. Oh well!
So full... and SO much cleanup to do in the kitchen! Booo :( |

Last night I did the dishes. My sinks were amazing & clean. It was awesome.
Today I baked an apple & pear pie, dinner (butternut squash, quinoa, ground beef, onion, sweet peppers, i.e. mish-mash), & pear bread. My sink/kitchen is a disaster area again. I wish I had "people" to deal with this situation for me.
In other situational news, I am also terribly in need of this:
Celebrates Hello Kitty's birthday and donates to the Humane Society! Perfect!
I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Yay for Thursdays. |

I was feeling pretty adventurous oday, so I parted my hair on the opposite side.
I made 12 little biscuits to eat with my pumpkin soup. Then I ate 10 of them. Damnit.. now I'm going to have to make more biscuits.
Is it cheaper to buy flour in bulk, or pre-packaged?
Making pumpkin-streusel bread next... I have frozen 5 cups of puree (flat, in baggies, go me!), made soup, & ice cream... I still have a few chunks of pumpkin in the fridge to puree for the bread. And over half this monster pumpkin intact on the counter.
I've been typing all this while watching Weeds. I love that I can type without even having to look at the keyboard. Look ma, no typos! No home row for me, either.
Make that 1 biscuit left. My cats are stupid. They do not equate "things on counter/table/sink" to "maybe I shouldn't jump up there." I was sitting outside earlier with everyone lounging in the grass, except Quinn who was stalking off. I was thinking about whether I could trust her to roam outside & then come back later, when she came back over to us! I was excited & pleased! And then I saw the mouse in betwen her teeth. She is a little devil.
It's time for the pig roast. I wish I was going to bad. It's another one of those things. |
